Evaluation Activity 2)

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

CHARACTER 1- FIRST CHARACTER INTRODUCED
PROTAGONIST- 'victim'

The Protagonist is shown from the perspective of the villain; being watched creates a tension for the audience because they don't know who's watching and what the reason is.

CHARACTER 2 - 2nd CHARACTER INTRODUCED
ANTAGONIST- 'unknown'

The antagonist is then introduced which gives the audience a clue of what the genre the film is about and also creates suspense.

The costume of the antagonist is a black hoodie, which connotes a young teenager who could possibly is about to cause trouble and there can be danger.
The point of view shot of the antagonist gives the audience a sense of discomfort and creates tension as they watch the protagonist from the perspective of the antagonist.

The face of the antagonist is never revealed which intrigues the audience as they want to know who it is and what their purpose of following the protagonist.
This makes the audience want to watch more of the film and also conforms to a thriller genre as the antagonist is never revealed until the end of the film.

Our antagonist was chosen to be a female character, which challenges the stereotype of a female and to show that females can be as cruel as the males. The antagonist in our film comes across as a more powerful and a dominant character, which adds a mysterious atmosphere to the overall antagonist, It would also add a sense of excitement for the audience as it's a female and not a male and would encourage them to watch the film.

How have we represented gender, ethnicity and age in our thriller?
Costume comparisons:
Representations of characters

Our protagonist is a typical teenage girl who is a white female with blonde hair which adds the sense of innocence and purity. The clothes highlight her young femininity and an innocence looking girl as she's slim, well dressed and girly.
The costume conforms to a female character very well as it highlights her being young and a pretty looking female protagonist.
