The Imitation Game (2014)
A dramatic portrayal of the life and work of one of
Britain’s most extraordinary unsung heroes, Alan
Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch). 
The pioneer of
modern-day computing, Turing is credited with
cracking the German Enigma code and the film is a
nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant
team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking center,
Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World
War II. 
Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the
eventual victim of an unenlightened British Establishment, but his work and legacy live on.


The Maze Runner (2014)
Thomas wakes up in an elevator, remembering nothing 
but his own name. He emerges into a world of about
60 teen boys who have learned to survive in a completely 
enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture 
and supplies. A new boy arrives every 30 days. The original 
group has been in "The Glade" for three years, trying to 
find a way to escape through the Maze that surrounds their living space. They have begun to give up hope. Then a 
comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their
world 
begins to change. There are some great, 
fast-paced action scenes, particularly those involving the nightmarish Grievers who plague the boys. 


Before I Go to Sleep (2014) 

Forty-year-old Christine Lucas wakes up in bed with a
 man she does not know, in an unfamiliar house. The 
man explains that he is her husband, Ben, and that she 
suffered brain damage from a car accident ten years 
earlier. Christine wakes up every morning with no 
memory of her life from her early twenties onwards. 
One day, new terrifying truths emerge that force 
her to question everyone around her.

The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan, 2012)

8 years after the events of The Dark Knight find Gotham at a time of peace. This is due to Batman taking the fall for Harvey Dent's murder. However, a new evil force named Bane has arrived in Gotham and aims to take over the city and expose the truth behind who Harvey Dent really was. Now that Wayne Manor has been completely rebuilt - Bruce Wayne has become almost reclusive, rarely leaving the estate. And with Bane taking over the city by force, it forces Batman to come out of retirement. But his allies are few and far apart. An elusive jewel thief by the name of Selina Kyle could be the key to stopping Bane - but whose side is she on?

The Departed (Scorsese, 2006)

Two just-graduated officers from Massachusetts State Police Academy follow opposite sides of the law: Billy Costigan is assigned to work undercover with the Irish mobster Frank Costello to get evidences to arrest him. His true identity is known only by his superiors Dignam and Oliver Queenan. The protégée of Costello, Colin Sullivan, is promoted in the Massachusetts State Police and is the informer of Costello. Each police officer gives his best effort trying to disclose the identity of the other "rat."

Shutter Island (Scorsese, 2010)

It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He's been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

Black Swan (2010)


Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side.

Se7en (1995)

Taking place in a nameless city, Se7en follows the story of two homicide detectives tracking down a sadistic serial killer who chooses his victims according to the seven deadly sins. Brad Pitt stars as Detective David Mills, a hopeful but naive rookie who finds himself partnered with veteran Detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman). Together they trace the killers every step, witnessing the aftermath of his horrific crimes one by one as the victims pile up in rapid succession, all the while moving closer to a gruesome fate neither of them could have predicted.
